Where to find a bargain RV in Oregon? Here we will take a look at alternatives to dealers, Craigslist, and other trading platforms to focus on buying at auction where hundreds of RVs including trailers and Class A, B and C motorhomes go up for sale every month in Oregon and nearby states.

To briefly recap, there are sales for repo, dealer trade-ins, factory surplus, etc which are held at Manheim and ADESA primarily. Then, there are auctions for insurance claims which include theft recovery, hail damage, storm damage, accident damage, flood, etc which are sold off through Copart, IAA, and SCA for the most part. Lastly, there are random sales, such as estate sales for example, where you may see an RV for sale from time to time.

 

How Much do RV’s Sell for at Auction?

On good quality late-model RVs at repossession and dealer auctions you really want to be saving 30% or more to cover any unforeseeable costs, remembering that at auction, you have very little means for recourse should you have an after-sale issue. High-end luxury RVs tend to sell at an even greater discount.

As for theft recovery and damaged RVs, it really depends on the type and extent of the damage, the age, existing faults, and so on. Here are some examples from recent Copart salvage sales
