Jamey Noel’s Notorious Car Collection Hits the Auction Block inc. 2 Plymouth Superbirds

Jamey Noel’s fraud and misconduct led to a conviction requiring him to pay significant restitution. The auction aims to assist in recovering some of these funds. While some of his vehicles have garnered high bids—like the 1970 Plymouth Superbird at $126,000—others, such as a Lincoln Town Car, start at very low prices.

The auction also highlights the diversity of Noel’s assets, including real estate and other items seized and sold previously, such as firearms and luxury watches. These sales not only help meet restitution demands but also provide a fascinating insight into how ill-got gains are reclaimed and redistributed.

There are actually two Superbirds in the auction. The first Superbird is reported to have matching numbers and only 42k miles! While the second is an orange, 1969, with 93k miles and once featured on the cover of Street Machine Magazine back in the 80’s.

The lots are part of the massive 2-day auction being held by Freije & Freije in French Lick, Indiana. The auction features Automobilia and Antiques on the first day and more on the second day, plus Classic & Vintage Vehicles. Altogether, there are over 700 lots on offer. Context & Background

Jamey Noel, the former Clark County Sheriff and New Chapel EMS director, has been embroiled in a scandal involving millions in stolen taxpayer funds. Following his conviction and sentencing to 12 years in prison, his assets are being auctioned off to help fulfill a restitution order of $3.1 million. The auction includes a diverse range of items, from vintage cars and a Cadillac hearse to real estate holdings. This type of auction is not uncommon, as it serves both to recover wrongfully obtained assets and bring closure to affected communities.
